Privacy Policy

Your privacy, in plain English.

Last updated: October 1, 2026

GreenerPulse is a small, independent blog about sustainable living. This policy explains what we collect when you visit — your email if you subscribe, basic information about your visit — and how we use it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

What you give us directly. When you subscribe to our newsletter through our signup form (powered by Mailchimp for WordPress), we store your name and email address so we can send you new guides. When you write to us through our contact form, handled by WPForms, we keep your name, email address, and message so we can reply.

Comments. Comments are open on our articles. If you leave one, we store the name, email address, and comment you provide so it can be displayed after approval. Your IP address and browser details are also recorded to help filter spam (handled by Akismet).

What we collect automatically. Like most websites, we record non-personal details about your visit: your browser type, which pages you read, and rough location data derived from your IP address. We use Google Analytics (connected via Site Kit by Google) to understand this traffic in aggregate, and our caching layer (LiteSpeed Cache) temporarily stores technical data to load pages faster. None of this identifies you personally.

How we use it

We use the information we collect for a few straightforward purposes:

  • To send you the newsletter and updates you asked for.
  • To read and respond to your messages.
  • To see which articles readers find useful, so we can write more of what works.
  • To keep the site secure, fast, and working properly.
  • To comply with legal obligations if we are ever required to.

We do not use your information for anything outside this list, and we never sell it.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files your browser stores when you visit a site. We use them to remember basic preferences and to measure how readers use the blog through Google Analytics. Some third-party services embedded on our pages may set their own cookies; those are governed by their own policies.

You are in control of cookies. You can block or delete them through your browser settings — every major browser explains how in its help pages. If you disable cookies, parts of the site may not work as smoothly, but you can still read everything.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of outside services to run this blog, and they process data on our behalf:

  • Newsletter delivery: Mailchimp for WordPress syncs subscriber names and email addresses to our Mailchimp audience.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, connected through Site Kit by Google, helps us understand readership in aggregate.
  • Advertising: we do not currently run third-party advertising on GreenerPulse. If we introduce ads in the future, we will update this section.
  • Embedded content: articles may include embedded videos or posts from other sites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other site directly, including its own cookies and tracking.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We only share data with the services above as needed to operate the blog, or when the law requires it.

Your rights

You have rights over your personal information, including the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch — contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, so you can stop receiving emails at any time with one click. You can also manage cookies through your browser, as described above.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypting traffic to and from the site with SSL. Only the people who run GreenerPulse have access to subscriber and message data.

That said, no method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure. We cannot promise absolute security, but we do our best to keep your information safe.

Children’s privacy

GreenerPulse is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the blog or the tools we use change. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Contact

If you have questions about this policy or about your personal information, the easiest way to reach us is through our contact page: greenerpulse.com/contact-2. We read every message and will respond as soon as we can.
